比利時人口約1150萬，因其獨特的開放性、地理位置、荷蘭文、法文及德文三種官方語言的多語性，也造就比利時文化的多樣性。

北部法蘭德斯區有布魯日、安特衛普、根特等古都，首都布魯塞爾則位居中心，歐盟重要機構如NATO與無數跨國企業總部皆設立於此。南部瓦隆尼亞區，則有列日、那幕爾等城市與美麗的亞爾丁森林。

運動迷們更是必訪比利時，國家足球隊 “紅魔隊”的足球明星Hazard以及De Bruyne ;另外還有無盡的自行車道，供您恣意探索城市及鄉村或觀賞經典賽事如斯帕-弗朗科爾尚賽道的F1錦標賽。

比利時科學專家如大爆炸理論發明人來自國內八所主要高等教育機構，學校不僅提供英語授課，也名列世界最好的學校之中。

比利時得天獨厚的地理位置與發達的倉儲物流系統，觸及歐陸五億的消費者 。加上高技能勞工、無數的研發機會、合理的房價與稅賦，更是跨國企業駐點首選。

Did you know that comic book characters Tintin and the Smurfs were created in Belgium?  Or that the saxophone was invented by the Belgian Adolphe Sax? Or that the co-inventor of the World Wide Web was a Belgian?  Belgium has so much to offer!

Belgium has a population of about 11.5 million and is a very diverse country where 3 national languages are spoken: Dutch, French and German. Its openness, central location in Europe and multilingualism have made it into a truly multicultural society.

In the north lies Flanders, which boasts many historic cities such as Bruges, Antwerp and Ghent.  The capital, Brussels, lies at the center hosts the most important EU-institutions, NATO and countless headquarters of international companies. In the south you can find Wallonia, with cities such as Liège and Namur but also with the beautiful Ardennes forests.  

Belgium is home to an incredible wealth of architectural historic masterpieces from the Middle Ages.   Later, in the 20th century Brussels became the center of the Art Nouveau movement.  The magnificent works of the Old Flemish Masters such as Peter Paul Rubens and those of more recent artists like René Magritte can still be admired in various museums.  The international music scene has is talented Belgian artists such as Stromae,  Hooverphonic, and DJs Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and its music festivals like Tomorrowland .

And if you are looking for good food, Belgium is of course the place to be.  A country which produces over 220.000 tons of chocolate every year, offers 800 different kinds of beer, Belgian fries, and waffles is truly a culinary paradise.

Every sports fan knows the national football team, the ‘Red Devils’, with players such as Hazard and De Bruyne.   Visiting tourists can also explore the endless bicycle routes through cities or the country side or attend the major classic races. Last but not least, Belgium is well known for its Formula 1 Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps.

The main source of Belgium’s scientific expertise is its 8 major universities and, schools of higher education.  Many of these are ranked among the best in the world and offer programs in English. 

Belgium has an extremely open and dynamic economy.  Belgium offers international companies great opportunities: it constitutes a gateway to the European market of 500 million consumers and offers a direct access to European decision makers, a highly skilled labor force, numerous R&D possibilities, affordable (industrial) real estate prices and a competitive tax regime.

Belgium and Taiwan enjoy excellent relations, which is symbolized by the many people-to-people contacts.  Each year more than 200 Taiwanese students leave for Belgium to pursue graduate, master or PhD-studies at one of its universities.  And since its creation three years ago more than 350 adventurous Taiwanese youngsters have used the opportunity offered by the Belgium-Taiwan Working Holiday Program to stay and work for one year in Belgium.  

The Belgian Office, Taipei (BOT) serves as a link between Belgian and Taiwanese organizations, companies, and individuals, promoting cultural and academic exchanges and, together with the local representations of Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) and the Wallonia Export and Investment Agency (AWEX) trade and investment. Our Consular Section provides services to local Belgian and Luxembourg nationals and delivers visa to individuals wishing to visit Belgium on a short or long term basis.
